Your roof is the single most important part of protecting your home, and when it reaches the end of its life, patching around the problem only delays the inevitable. At Custom Remodeling LLC, we focus on complete residential roof replacement — tearing off the old system down to the decking and building a brand-new roof that is ready for Mid-South weather.

Homeowners across Southaven, Olive Branch, Horn Lake, Hernando and the greater Memphis area call us because they want the job done once and done right. With 30 years of hands-on experience, serving the area since 2009, we know how spring hail, summer heat and heavy storms wear down roofs in DeSoto County, and we build every re-roofing project with that in mind.

What's included

  • Free on-site roof inspection and written estimate
  • Complete tear-off of old shingles and underlayment down to the deck
  • Inspection and replacement of soft or rotted decking (priced up front per sheet)
  • New synthetic underlayment plus ice-and-water barrier in valleys and around penetrations
  • New drip edge, pipe boots, and step and counter flashing
  • Ridge vents or other ventilation upgrades as needed
  • Magnetic nail sweep and full job-site cleanup
  • Insurance claim guidance when storm or hail damage is involved

Our process, step by step

  1. 1Inspection & estimate. We walk the roof, check the attic for ventilation and moisture, photograph problem areas, and give you a clear written estimate with material options.
  2. 2Choose materials & schedule. You pick your shingle style and color. We order materials and set an install date, watching the forecast so your home isn't left exposed.
  3. 3Protect & tear off. We cover landscaping, protect siding and windows, and remove the old roof down to the decking.
  4. 4Decking & dry-in. Damaged decking is replaced, then the roof is dried in with underlayment, ice-and-water barrier, and drip edge.
  5. 5Install & flash. New shingles go on with proper nailing patterns, plus new flashing at walls, chimneys, and vents, and finished ridge caps.
  6. 6Cleanup & final walkthrough. We run magnets over the yard and driveway, haul away all debris, and walk the finished roof with you.

Roofing materials we install

Architectural asphalt shingles

The most popular choice in DeSoto County — dimensional look, good wind resistance, and strong value.

Impact-rated shingles

Designed to better resist hail. Some insurers offer discounts for them — ask your agent.

Standing seam & metal panels

Long-lasting and energy efficient, a great fit for homes, barns, and shops.

Low-slope systems

For porches, additions, and flat sections that need a membrane rather than shingles.

Signs it's time for a roof replacement

  • Your roof is 15–20+ years old
  • Curling, cracked, or missing shingles across multiple slopes
  • Granules collecting in gutters or at downspouts
  • Water stains on ceilings or in the attic
  • Sagging areas or soft spots when walked on
  • Hail or wind damage after a recent storm

Timeline expectations

Most single-family roof replacements in the Southaven and Memphis area are completed in one to two days once materials arrive. Larger homes, steep pitches, or significant decking replacement can add a day. We'll give you a realistic timeline in your estimate and keep you updated if weather shifts the schedule.

Residential Roof Replacement FAQ

How much does a roof replacement cost in Southaven?

Cost depends on roof size, pitch, number of layers to remove, decking condition, and the shingle you choose. We provide a free, detailed written estimate after inspecting your roof so there are no surprises.

What kinds of roofing work do you do?

We specialize only in full roof replacement and new roof installation. Focusing on complete re-roofing lets us deliver a consistent, long-lasting result on every project.

Will insurance pay for my new roof?

If your roof was damaged by hail or wind, your homeowner's policy may cover replacement. We inspect, document the damage, and help you through the claim process.

Do I need to be home during the installation?

No, but someone should be reachable by phone. We'll ask you to move vehicles out of the driveway and take fragile items off walls, since installation causes vibration.

What warranty comes with a new roof?

Shingle manufacturers provide their own product warranties. Our workmanship warranty details are: [ADD WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY DETAILS].
